The Medeis Malum – A galaxy-wide cataclysm that ruptures worlds, destroys civilizations, poisons life, but also invokes magic – the good and the bad.
This is a collection that includes multiple stories that occur nearly a thousand years before the main novel series. These stories so far include:
The Shattering of Eremu
Revolving around a family of Faunii who are experiencing the catastrophic Medeis Malum as it is happening on their desert planet of Irathé. The Humi’s are faced with tragedy, curiosity, terror, and exhilaration as the events of the cataclysm unfold.
The New King
One third of the Folk population fled the planet of Folkien after the Medeis Malum nearly obliterated it. Their technologically advanced society granted them the ability to travel to the nearest planet for refuge for the time being. The Eaqeli of Vizren accepted their refuge, provided their gracious hospitality, and eventually permitted these Folk to construct a second kingdom on their land. The ‘new king’ is not the first of this kingdom, but the second, after his father mysteriously disappears.
The Rise of the Friktós Clan
The story of two Folk, a boy and his father, whose race on Folkien has been warped by the cataclysm over a hundred years earlier. As the boy is learning about and developing his magical powers, he is confronted with recruiters of an intriguingly suspicious group.
The Discovery at Kalystu
Less than a hundred years ago, the Medeis Malum ruptured pieces of Vizren, lifting the ground which sat the entire kingdom of Vinrelden hundreds of kilometers above the surface. A young Eaqeli woman, who resides in Vinrelden, is tasked with an espionage mission to the surface below and to find out what exactly is going on with the Fasidi – Eaqelis who have been corrupted by the Medeis Malum – ultimately testing her magical abilities.
The Crash on Saxa Vagus
A mysterious group of Outsiders crash land on a planet named Saxa Vagus, on the outskirts of the Saur Mandal system thousands of years prior to the Medeis Malum.
